This is the story of a Spanish family and the way that they share their lives together over a meal.  The book follows a week in the life of the family as they prepare food and eat together.  Seen through the eyes of a child we enter into the routine of the family and learn to respect how important the time that we spend together eating is.

I’ve used this story as an introduction to Communion/Eucharist among other things as a way for us to remember those who we are eating with and those who are unable to be with us…

Personally, I have an image in my mind of a God who is very much like the mother in this book, the image is of God as a mother who’s answer to everything is to eat, eat, eat…

Eating is very important as is the time that we spend together…
