Olivia may be a young pig, but she is just like many young girls I know.
She loves changing her clothes and being the responsible elder sister that she is, she gets busy doing things like moving the cat about, and dealing with her younger brother.
Olivia is adventurous and during the story demonstrates her skill at building sandcastles, dancing, and art appreciation. She has a “give it a go” attitude and is quite an independent little girl, but she still likes her mother to read her stories before she goes to bed.
“Olivia” is a picture book which is elegant in it’s simplicity. The words are few, yet loaded with meaning and character. The pictures are a simple black and white with large splashes of red, and this beautifully complements Olivia’s bright personality.
This book depicts Olivia’s relationship with her caring and patient mother, and her little brother, as well as ordinary events from family life. For such a simple book, it creates a very attractive character in Olivia. This book will appeal to Mums as much as it does to their daughters.
