Title: Noah Dreary
Themes: complaining, enjoying life, worry, cautionary tales, complaining in a good way (Bono and Mandella cameo)
Noah Dreary is an odd tale of a young boy who never stops complaining, from dusk till dawn he complains, about his food, his life, his family, his hair… Everything and anything, he complains… Until his head falls off.
I need to find a different word to describe Aaron Blabey’s stories, I think I’ve worn “Quirky” out… How about peculiar? off-the-wall? weird? unorthodox?
Whatever adjective you use to describe Blabey’s cautionary tale it won’t be “normal.”
This is a cautionary tale in the same vein as the Ruth Park book “When The Wind Changed”
But it’s more than a cautionary tale, it’s a tale of inspiration, inviting the readers to get up and do something different, something that can change the world. And if you didn’t understand that after the humorous cameo of both Bono and Mandella you need to read the tale again.
Sue, Noah’s head falls off, and sure, that doesn’t stop his complaining, in fact it makes it worse, and sure, it takes a near death experience for him to change and enjoy life… don’t be like Noah and wait for that… Change now. Enjoy life now.
